The Dillon
family’s long history in the force measurement and scale
business
For over 70 years, the Dillon family has been in the force
measurement and scale business.
Our founder, W. C. Dillon (Willie), led the design and
manufacturing of Dillon Dynamometers and force gauges. His
example of diligence and perseverance began in the horse and
buggy days and was passed down through his family today.
One of the best known of the Dillon precision products is
the Dillon Dynamometer, an instrument used to measure
tension and weight.
As a young man supervising the installation of telephone
lines across Cherokee country, Willie realized the need for
an instrument that would indicate the amount of tension
placed in wires. This new instrument would prevent wires
from being over-stressed or too loose. His response to
this need led to the development of the first Traction
Dynamometer in the early 1930s. |
Willie’s innovation didn’t stop there. Throughout the years,
he continued to deliver Dillon precision products to meet
the needs of public utilities, nuclear facilities, tower
erectors, armed services, and material handlers throughout
the world. That determination and dedication is alive
today with quality sales, service, and repair from
Dillon/Quality Plus, Inc.
The Dillon Name Means Quality Products
Although the Dillon Dynamometer was not the first invention
of Willie Dillon, it has certainly been one of the strongest
and most versatile Dillon precision products on the market.
Based on the standards of extreme engineering and real world
punishment, Dillon products of today are known for:
-
Superior strength
-
Corrosion resistance
-
Accuracy
-
Consistent reliability
Who We Are Today
The tradition of Dillon Dynamometers innovation and service has been passed
down through the generations. In 1983, George Dillon, Willie’s grandson, and
his wife, Joan, founded Dillon/Quality Plus, Inc. to provide quality force
gauge and tension meter product service and repair to their outstanding
customers.
As President and CEO of W. C. Dillon Co., George was intimately familiar
with the repair of Dillon precision products. Seeing the need for reliable,
accurate repair and calibration of Dillon products, George committed his new
company to specializing in those services. Dedicated to making your
investment last a lifetime, Dillon/Quality Plus, Inc. provides the skilled
and knowledgeable calibration and repairs to keep your Dillon precision
products accurate.
Today, Dillon/Quality Plus, Inc. is the leading distributor, sales, service,
and calibration facility for the Dillon product line. Managed under the
direction of Bill and Dan Dillon, great grandsons of Willie Dillon,
Dillon/Quality Plus, Inc. still provides you with one-on-one assistance and
